The second and final cash tranche of about $ 10 million has been sent by the Russian Federation to Nicaragua, where the FMBA of Russia and the specialized institution of the department – SPbSRIVS, together with the Nicaraguan Institute for Social Development, is implementing a project to build modern pharmaceutical production of vaccines and a number of other immunobiological products.
Thus, Russia has fully fulfilled its financial obligations for the project, the country’s leadership expects completion of construction by the end of 2016. This was reported at a recent meeting with Russian President V.Putin by the head of the FMBA of Russia V.V.Uiba. “This is a unique project, and by the end of the year we will report on it, I think, a successful conclusion,” said the head of the FMBA.
“The funds received are already directed to purchase equipment for new production and completion of construction. It will be the most high-tech enterprise in the region, which will allow us to compete in the markets of Latin America with the companies of the so-called “bigfarm”, in particular for the supply of vaccines for the prevention of influenza, “said the director of SPbSRIVS Victor Trukhin.
Recall that SPbSRIVS is implementing a project to create a joint Russian-Nicaraguan Mechnikov vaccine production enterprise (Mechnikov S.A.) implemented within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission of our countries. Since early 2018, the company plans to supply vaccines for the prevention of influenza, both directly to the Ministry of Health of the countries of the region, and through regional medical organizations, such as the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). Partner and co-founder Mechnikov S.A. The Nicaraguan Institute of Social Insurance (NIIS) is speaking.
