In 2016, SPbSRIVS produced 20 million doses of influenza vaccine, which is 12 million doses more than last year. Over the past three years, the combined output growth has been more than threefold.
“In 2016, SPbSRIVS produced almost half of the total number of influenza vaccines required for the National Immunization Calendar. This makes us a leading supplier of influenza vaccines in Russia. With that comes additional responsibility. Three years ago, few could foresee that – and today we are proud to confirm this milestone”, summed up Mr. Victor Trukhin, Director of SPbSRIVS.
In total, the Russian Ministry of Health will purchase in 2016 approximately 48 million doses of the influenza vaccine for the free immunization program of all at-risk groups. “The influenza vaccines produced on the new state-of-the-art production line at SPbSRIVS meet all international standards, the facility has a GMP certificate, which guarantees the quality and safety of our vaccines, and the proprietary technology guarantees high efficacy,” added the Deputy Director of SPbSRIVS Mr. Stanislav Petrovsky.
The influenza vaccine production line at SPbSRIVS of the Russian Federal Biomedical Agency was modernized and commissioned in the fall 2012. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Ms. V.I. Skvortsova. “You have developed unique drugs that we can rightfully be proud of – the world’s best preparation against highly pathogenic influenza, preparations against seasonal flu, various forms of influenza vaccines,” said Ms. Skvortsova at the event.
In 2014, SPbSRIVS produced 6.4 million doses, in 2015 – 8 million doses of influenza vaccines.
