In Managua, Nicaragua was held a meeting of the Russian-Nicaraguan Technical Advisory Committee. The main topic was the transfer of technology in the health sector.
To the date, were held eight meetings of the Advisory Committee related to the organization, planning and control of the activities, directly.addressed to the three main areas: technology transfer, strengthening of the National Regulatory Authority in Nicaragua.and the formation of a base of highly qualified personnel for the industry. Members of the Committee evaluated results of the activities from the moment of the previous meeting, which took place in.February 2017, and compiled a roadmap for the actions of 2018.
The meeting attended the functionaries of the Nicaraguan Institute of Social Insurance (NISS),.senior management of the regulatory body CECMED (Cuba), representatives of PAHO / WHO in the region. From the Russian side, the Director of SPbNIIVS V.Trukhin, the Deputy.Director of SPbNIIV A.Evtushenko, Acting Director of the “State Scientific and Research Institute” Y.Vasiliev and General Manager of the joint Russian-Nicaraguan project – Latin American Biotechnology Institute MECHNIKOV S.Uiba.
One of the highly important issue is exchange of the experience between.countries of the region (south-south cooperation) in the transfer of technology. As part of this issue, Committee is monitoring the current status and the progress of the transfer.of technology for the production immunobiological and biological medicines from the Russia to Nicaragua, in particular the influenza vaccine of the SPbSRIVS.
The creation of the reserve of qualified personnel is no less acute. The Committee discussed possibilities of the using the production plant at MECHNIKOV Institute as one of the additional center for obtaining professional practice and recruiting the specialists. The professors from the UNAN Universities in León and Managua covered those topics. In the turn, Elena Kazakova, Head of the Department of Labor Efficiency Management, shared with Committee the results of the evaluation of the competence and effectiveness of employees of MECHNIKOV.
