At the beginning of August, a first batch of a diagnostic medicine made in Russia, which helps to detect tuberculosis in the early stages had been delivered to Republic of Cuba.
The first delivery of Tuberculin produced by FSUE St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums and the Bacterial Preparation Factory (SPbSRIVS) was successfully implemented as part of the development of cooperation between the Russian enterprise and the Cuban Ministry of Health. “Certainly it is important event as for us, as for all region of Latin America. Every day 4400 people die of tuberculosis in the world and early diagnosis is a well-recognized effective way to fight this disease. Last weekend we delivered 54 thousands of doses of diagnostic medicine to detect tuberculosis produced by SPbSRIVS to Cuba; in the future, we expect the expansion of the geography of our supplies to other Latin American countries”, – said Director of SPbSRIVS Mr. V.Trukhin.
The supplier of the delivery was the Latin American Institute of Biotechnology MECHNIKOV, a joint Russian-Nicaraguan enterprise for the production of immunobiological products. Logistics supply, taking into account the strict requirements of the “cold chain”, provided the specialists of DHL International GmbH.
“The countries of the region and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) express the increasing interest in the Russian medicine Tuberculin, taking in account longtime experience of use, proven efficacy of it, and also the combination of price and quality in comparison with foreign analogues”, – commented CEO of MECHNIKOV Mr. S.Uiba.
In addition, early in 2017 SPbSRIVS traditionally delivered the vaccine against influenza to Latin America countries in volume of 967 thousand of doses. Russian medicine will be used for the prevention of influenza in Cuba and Nicaragua.
