The Damascus International Fair is the oldest and one of the largest fairs in the Middle East region. This event is the start of the reconstruction and rebuilding of Syria. The previous edition of the Damascus International Fair, which was held after 5 years of interruption caused by the military conflict in Syria, was attended by 2 million visitors from 43 countries.
The event was visited by Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis. He pointed out to the attempt of terrorists in the last session of the Fair to make it a failure through launching shells of their spite which targeted a number of innocent civilians on the doors of the Fairgrounds. But thanks to the sacrifice of thousands of soldiers and civilians, including those killed in the exhibition and thanks to our allied states, safety was restored in Damascus and in many other areas of the country.
For his part, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Raul Khajimba, said that the celebration of the oldest and largest Fair in the region with a wide participation of delegations from various countries of the world, shows that Syria is becoming safer.
