In Austria, 23-24 November 2017 the delegation of the.Institute of Vaccines and Serums participated in the Seventh UNIDO Ministerial Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs)*.
About 350 participants from more than 60 countries of the world gathered in Vienna to discuss the creation of conditions for sustainable development in the Least Developed Countries. According to United Nations, LDCs characterized by a low standard of.living, a weak economy, where populations and resources, which are affected by the natural disasters. Naturally, the population is sorely lacking in quality medicines and services.
Members of the delegation – Mr. Andrey Vasiliev, Deputy Director of SPbSRIVS and Mr. Andrey Dolinkin, Deputy Director for Science of SPbSRIVS – visited UNIDO Conference to discuss the.options for partnership between business and governments of the Least Developed Countries in terms of medical technology. General Manager Mr. Stanislav Uiba represented the Joint Russian-Nicaraguan enterprise Latin American Institute of Biotechnology. In his speech at the plenary session “Cooperation for Sustainable Industrialization” he drew attention to the fact that the basis of cooperation between the countries in the field of high technologies is the transfer of knowledge, which entails the development of a scientific and professional school. For the country it means not only transfer of exiting technology, but mostly impulse for the further development of their school, the creation of a base of highly qualified personnel.
Members of Delegates from Ethiopia, led by Minister of Industry Dr.Mebrahtu Meles expressed a great interest in applying the.experience of Russian colleagues in the field of technology transfer. Should be.noted, that in recent years, the economy of Ethiopia demonstrated the stable development, due to the.favorable conditions created for the country for investment, international projects and cooperation.
During the visit of the Russian delegation to the UNIDO Conference, also was held the meeting with representatives of Panama. The participants discussed the prospects for the further development of the Latin American Biotechnology Institute. Members of the Panamanian delegation noted the unquestionable importance of this project for the whole region of Latin America and the Caribbean.
